Medical Insurance Resource Center

Finding, keeping, and understanding medical insurance and all its related issues can be complicated, especially for the bleeding disorders community.  Our Medical Insurance Resource Center is designed to give you the tools to advocate for your family’s insurance needs.

New Database Makes Finding Health Insurance Options Easier HANDI, the information resource center of the National Hemophilia Foundation, recently learned of a new health insurance database created by the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). Implemented to help more Americans find affordable health coverage, the “unbiased” database, is a searchable tool with information about private insurance, high-risk pools as well as public assistance programs. It provides links to programs available state-by-state, their eligibility criteria, and specific contacts for more information. NAHU hopes the database will help people who may not be aware of programs for which they are eligible, and give policy makers the ability to compare health coverage reforms in various states.

NAHU represents over 20,000 professional health insurance agents and brokers who provide insurance for millions of Americans. To access the new database, go to www.nahu.org/consumer/healthcare
