Chris became an HFO board member in 2006 and has served as board president for the last three years. He has initiated many youth events and continues to attend summer camp as a counselor.
Dawn Johnson is the mother of a 2-year old boy with severe hemophilia type 'A'. She is also a communications specialist with almost ten years of experience in television news and media relations. Johnson has a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with an emphasis in electronic-media from the University of Oregon. She is currently the Public Information/Education Officer for Clark County Fire District 6 in Vancouver, Washington. Previously, she was an Executive News Producer for the CBS affiliate in Portland, Oregon. Johnson has been a member of the Hemophilia Foundation Board since the summer of 2009. "There is no history of hemophilia in my family, so when Scotty was diagnosed a week after birth I was desperate to talk to a family of a child with a bleeding disorder," Johnson said. "Now I want to be a resource for families of newly diagnosed children, as well as a voice for my son, and all of those people living with a bleeding disorder." Johnson recently completed the National Hemophilia Foundation's "First Step" program for families of infants and young children. She is now organizing a local support group for infants up to 5-years old and their families.

Monica first got involved with the HFO shortly after her son Mitch was diagnosed with hemophilia in 1994. After attending a couple of women’s support group meetings, she became involved helping organize the HFO picnic. She then branched out to help with the Camp Committee, and she and her husband Tom are now the Summer Camp Directors. Monica has been Board Secretary since 1998. Her involvement with the HFO stems from a desire to be more directly involved and to give something back to the bleeding disorders community. Besides their son Mitch, she and Tom have a daughter Alli. Monica also manages the HFO office, and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her family.
